Noah Kahan's "The Great Divide" reigns atop the Alternative Airplay chart, marking a historic, rapid ascent and dominating rock radio.

AceShowbiz - Noah Kahan has achieved a rapid climb to the top of the Alternative Airplay chart with his song The Great Divide, dated March 7. This marks the song’s fourth week on the chart and its reign at No. 1, making it the fastest ascent to the summit since October 2024, when Linkin Park’s The Emptiness Machine reached No. 1 in its third week.
Following his recent record-setting rise to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, Kahan has now mirrored this success on the Alternative Airplay list, further cementing the track’s popularity across rock radio formats.
The Great Divide also holds the No. 1 position for the second consecutive week on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart. On the broader Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, which measures audience impressions, the track stands at a strong No. 2 with 4.9 million impressions, reflecting a 9% increase for the week ending February 26, according to Luminate data.
Expanding its reach beyond rock audiences, the song continues to make inroads on pop radio formats. It maintains a peak position of No. 25 on Adult Pop Airplay and has moved up from No. 37 to No. 32 on Pop Airplay, while also gaining attention on the Adult Contemporary chart.
Earlier, Kahan debuted The Great Divide at No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart dated February 14. The latest update, dated February 28 and covering data from February 13-19, shows the track at No. 3. In addition to radio airplay, it garnered 9.9 million official U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads during that period.
This marks Kahan’s second No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart, following his 2023 two-week leader “Dial Drunk,” a collaboration with Post Malone. Another of his songs, “Stick Season,” which originally peaked at No. 21 in 2023, re-entered the chart in 2024 and reached a new high of No. 15 thanks to renewed viral popularity.
Kahan is set to release his album also titled The Great Divide on April 24. This upcoming project follows his 2022 breakthrough album Stick Season.
