From the director of Crash Landing on You. A centuries-old demon who's never loved meets a weary hotel attendant. A new K-romance series is coming to Netflix.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has officially started production on Long Vacation, an upcoming Korean romance series directed by Lee Jung-hyo, known for the worldwide hit Crash Landing on You. The series is penned by Jung Hyun-jung, a prolific writer of Korean romantic dramas. Netflix shared photos from the first day of the table read held in Seoul, highlighting the excitement around this new project.
The show stars two of Korea’s rapidly rising actors: Choo Young-woo and Lee Se-young. Choo Young-woo recently earned the Baeksang Award for Best New Actor, thanks to his roles in notable dramas like The Tale of Lady Ok, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and Head Over Heels. In Long Vacation, he portrays Demon 3375, a centuries-old supernatural being who has never understood love. Lee Se-young, recognized for her performances in The Red Sleeve and What Comes After Love, plays Deul-pan, a diligent hotel room attendant facing a challenging daily life. Their characters repeatedly cross paths at a seaside hotel, leading to an unexpected romance that challenges what the demon thought he knew about love.
The involvement of Lee Jung-hyo has raised significant anticipation for the series. After the massive success of Crash Landing on You, which ranks among Netflix’s most-watched Korean dramas, Lee has continued to helm original projects like Doona! (2023) and the upcoming thriller The Price of Confession (2025) starring Jeon Do-yeon. Meanwhile, Jung Hyun-jung brings over a decade of experience writing acclaimed romantic series such as I Need Romance, Romance Is a Bonus Book, Lovestruck in the City, and Discovery of Love.
Long Vacation is part of Netflix’s expanding slate of Korean content, which the platform announced earlier this year. The slate includes 33 Korean titles ranging across genres and formats, featuring popular shows like a new season of Singles Inferno, the rom-com Boyfriend on Demand starring Blackpink’s Jisoo, and Possible Love, the first film in eight years by the acclaimed director Lee Chang-dong. This robust lineup underscores Korea’s vital role as one of Netflix’s key content markets outside the U.S.
The importance of Korean entertainment on Netflix was also highlighted recently by the BTS comeback concert streamed live from Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square, which attracted 18.4 million viewers globally and reached No. 1 on Netflix in 24 countries. This momentum is expected to continue as Netflix invests further in high-quality Korean productions like Long Vacation.
