Sean "Diddy" Combs gets an early prison release date. Get the details on his reduced sentence, new 2028 date, and the charges he faced.
- April 1, 2026
AceShowbiz - Sean Diddy Combs is scheduled to be released from prison earlier than previously anticipated, with his release date moved up by 10 days.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the music executive’s new projected release date is April 15, 2028, instead of the original date of April 25, 2028. This adjustment follows a recent reduction of over a month in his sentence.
The 56-year-old is currently serving a sentence of 50 months after being convicted in 2025 on two federal charges related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of more severe allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Diddy is incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, a facility selected based on his legal team’s request due to its drug treatment programs and proximity to his family. His attorney previously stated in court filings, “In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix.”
The recent reduction in Diddy’s release date may be linked to credits earned for good behavior and his participation in prison rehabilitation programs. Last year, he filed an appeal against both his conviction and sentence, contending that the sexual acts referenced during his trial were consensual and that the punishment was unjust.
His legal representatives described the sentence as “a perversion of justice” and requested his immediate release. However, federal prosecutors countered these claims, arguing that Combs employed violence, threats, and drugs during the activities that led to his conviction.
Arguments for the appeal are expected to be heard on April 9, 2024, potentially impacting his sentencing further.
