AceShowbiz - The Malcolm In The Middle cast and creators are open to the idea of a full reboot, despite the upcoming limited revival series set to premiere soon. While fans eagerly await the four-part installment arriving on Disney+ and Hulu on April 10, the show's team suggests a fresh reboot could be possible in the future.
This new limited series reunites the iconic family originally introduced in Fox’s popular early 2000s single-camera comedy. The storyline centers on Frankie Muniz’s character, Malcolm, who now lives apart from his boisterous family. He’s happily settled with a partner and their similarly neurotic daughter, but is drawn back into the fold for the 40th wedding anniversary celebration of his parents, Hal and Lois, played by Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek respectively.
Although this revival brings back the original characters and familiar dynamics, the creative team is also contemplating a reboot featuring a completely new cast and storyline. They describe the concept as “a whole new set of characters and circumstances that are ripe” for exploration, highlighting the potential to expand the franchise in fresh directions beyond the current reunion.
As the series prepares to launch, fans can look forward to seeing the beloved dysfunctional family together once again, while remaining hopeful that the possibility of a reboot could bring new energy and narratives to the Malcolm In The Middle universe.
