AceShowbiz - Chad Gilbert, guitarist for New Found Glory, recently shared an update on his health following a major surgery to remove three brain tumors. The procedure took place last month, and Gilbert has been in recovery since then.
In an Instagram post published on a Monday, Gilbert explained that his recovery process has had its challenges but noted he is "feeling much better now and getting stronger by the day." The musician revealed that the symptoms began in February while performing a show in Nashville. He noticed difficulty controlling the movements of his left hand and increasing weakness in his left leg, which caused him to stumble and occasionally fall.
Following these signs, Gilbert underwent a CT scan a few days later, which confirmed the presence of three brain tumors. He then underwent surgery on February 27 to remove the tumors and has remained hospitalized as he continues to heal. His Instagram post included several photos documenting his hospital stay.
Gilbert also shared a quote from his radiation oncologist: "This is not a fatal blow and not the end of your story, just the beginning of a new chapter."
Throughout his post, Gilbert expressed gratitude to everyone who has reached out to support him and his family during this time. He mentioned he has been unable to use his phone extensively and has many messages to reply to as he regains his strength.
He concluded by assuring fans that more updates will come once his brain is functioning better, and he looks forward to sharing new music and enjoyable moments with his audience as he emerges from this health challenge.
