AceShowbiz - Christian Ulmen, the well-known German actor and comedian, has been accused by his ex-wife of circulating fabricated explicit content using artificial intelligence technologies. The allegations, made public by German actress and TV presenter Collien Fernandes, claim that during their marriage, Ulmen created and distributed fake nude photos and sex videos of her online.
Fernandes revealed the accusations in an Instagram post on Friday, following a detailed investigative report published the previous day by the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel. The report outlined a decade-long pattern of alleged systematic humiliation by Ulmen. Additionally, a criminal complaint has been filed in Spain, where the couple maintains a second residence, including claims of domestic abuse.
The complaint accuses Ulmen of using AI to fabricate photos and videos of Fernandes and distributing them to men within the German film and television industry as well as their social circle. One particularly disturbing fake video, reportedly sent to 21 men, depicted a gang rape scenario involving Fernandes. Furthermore, she alleges that Ulmen cloned her voice using AI to simulate fake telephone sex conversations with other men.
In response to these claims, Ulmen has denied all allegations through his legal representatives. A media law firm representing him criticized the Der Spiegel report, calling it "unlawful for several reasons" and accusing it of spreading "untrue facts" based on a one-sided narrative.
The investigation by Der Spiegel also detailed how Ulmen allegedly created fake social media profiles impersonating Fernandes. These profiles were used to contact men, sending them pornographic images and videos falsely attributed to her.
Fernandes has been aware of the existence of these digital forgeries for years. In early 2024, she hosted a television program titled "The Hunt for the Perpetrator," aimed at identifying those responsible for the fake profiles. After the program aired later that year, she claims to have discovered that her then-husband was behind the entire scheme.
Fernandes and Ulmen were married in 2011. They separated in 2023 and publicly announced their divorce earlier in 2024. The couple shares a daughter.
The criminal complaint lodged in Spain includes charges such as identity theft, violation of private or business secrets, and public insult. The Palma District Court’s Department for Violence Against Women confirmed that the complaint also alleges repeated threats and abuse. The Spanish authorities have stated that the investigation is still at an early stage, and Ulmen has not been formally charged with any crime.
Once considered one of Germany’s most prominent celebrity couples, Ulmen has been a household name for decades. He first gained fame as an MTV VJ before transitioning to acting and comedy roles in popular series including Jerks and the crime procedural Tatort. His film credits include Berlin Blues (2003) and Maria, ihm schmeckt’s nicht! (2009). Fernandes is a respected TV presenter and actress, known for her roles in German comedies such as Night of the Living Dorks (2004) and Ossi’s Eleven (2007).
Following the emergence of the allegations, the German commercial network Pro7 removed all episodes of Ulmen’s series Jerks from its online streaming platform Joyn. However, public broadcaster ARD has not yet taken down Ulmen’s episodes of Tatort from its on-demand service.
The unfolding story continues to attract extensive media attention in Germany and beyond, highlighting ongoing concerns about privacy, technology misuse, and domestic abuse within the entertainment industry.
