AceShowbiz - Harry Jowsey has openly shared that he is no longer friends with anyone from the cast of Dancing With the Stars, following his experience on the 2023 season 32 of the show. Speaking on the March 11 episode of the "Teen Beat With Danielle Fishel" podcast, the 28-year-old reality star revealed that despite initially having a great time on the competition, his relationships with fellow cast members did not last beyond the show.
Jowsey, who was partnered with professional dancer Rylee Arnold, described his time on Dancing With the Stars as "the best experience ever, so rewarding and amazing." He emphasized that the production schedule was intense, agreeing with host Danielle Fishel, who also competed on season 34, that being part of the show means your life is "locked in" for months and all other plans are set aside.
Despite these positive reflections, Jowsey disclosed that he no longer keeps in contact with any of the pros or castmates from the show. He expressed disappointment when the following season aired and he noticed many cast members stopped responding to his messages or even unfollowed him on social media.
The most painful moment for him, he admitted, was when his father passed away in December 2024. At that time, he said, none of the cast reached out to offer condolences, despite him being close to many of them during the competition. Jowsey recalled that only one pro dancer, Sasha Farber, contacted him during this difficult period.
This lack of support made Jowsey question the genuineness of his friendships with the cast. He stated, "I'm kind of glad that I'm not friends with any of them," describing the situation as a "very telling moment" while he was "trying my best with all the noise" surrounding his personal loss.
He further shared an instance where he had trained at the gym with a former castmate who was aware of his father's death but did not offer any words of sympathy, only liking a social media post about it. Jowsey expressed frustration over this, saying he would have done anything to be there for that person if the roles were reversed.
This experience has led him to feel relieved to have closed that chapter of his life. He acknowledged that Dancing With the Stars creates a unique and intense environment that feels like a bubble, where normal social interactions outside the show often do not carry over.
Jowsey also questioned the authenticity of cast members, wondering if they are "really real people," but added that this perspective is shared by many former contestants who see the show as a separate world where nothing else matters while filming.
He noted that being a dancer on Dancing With the Stars is akin to reaching a pinnacle, similar to making the NFL in sports. However, he explained that pros who leave the show often become outcasts and are no longer included in the group, which he found "a bit weird."
The candid conversation concluded with Jowsey acknowledging that his remarks might cause controversy, but he stated, "I don't really care." His honesty sheds light on the complex social dynamics behind the scenes of one of ABC’s most popular competitive reality shows.
