AceShowbiz - Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of Assassin's Creed has added Claes Bang and Nabhaan Rizwan as series regulars, expanding the cast for the highly anticipated show.

The series was officially greenlit in July of last year, with acclaimed creators and executive producers Roberto Patino, known for Westworld and Sons of Anarchy, and David Wiener, known for Halo and The Killing, leading the project as showrunners.

The official synopsis describes Assassin's Creed as a fast-paced thriller centered on a secret conflict between two hidden factions. One faction seeks to dictate humanity’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to protect free will. The storyline will follow various characters through significant historical moments as they struggle to influence mankind’s destiny.

Claes Bang, a Danish actor, is best recognized for his lead role in Ruben Östlund's 2017 Palme d'Or-winning film The Square. More recently, he appeared in Robert Eggers’ 2022 film The Northman, portrayed Sasha Mann in the final season of The Affair, and starred as the titular William Tell in Nick Hamm’s adaptation.

Nabhaan Rizwan is a BAFTA Rising Star nominee who has appeared in Netflix’s Kaos, as well as the BBC’s Dope Girls and Juice. He gained acclaim for his role in HBO’s Station 11 opposite Himesh Patel and has also featured in Industry, the BBC-Amazon thriller The Informer, and Jack Thorne's miniseries The Accident for Channel 4 and Hulu. Rizwan recently completed filming Film Club alongside The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood.

Other previously announced cast members for Assassin's Creed include Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris, and Corrado Invernizzi, creating a diverse ensemble for the series.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the best-selling video game series in history, with over 230 million units sold worldwide. The property was last adapted for the big screen in 2016 by 20th Century Fox. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the film starred Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson and grossed more than $240 million globally.

With the new Netflix adaptation, fans of the franchise can expect a thrilling exploration of the age-old battle between control and freedom, set against pivotal moments in history, brought to life by this talented cast and creative team.
