AceShowbiz - Lauren London delivered a heartfelt tribute during the dedication of an intersection in Los Angeles named after her late partner, Nipsey Hussle. The corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue was officially named Nipsey Hussle Square in a ceremony held on Saturday.
Lauren London spoke emotionally to the gathered crowd, recalling how Nipsey Hussle had once predicted the honor. She shared, "When me and Nip first started dating, we would drive by over here and he would be like, 'You know, Boogie, one day, they're gonna name this whole section after me.' And here we are today." Her remarks resonated deeply as she held back tears while commemorating his legacy.
The intersection is significant as it is near the original location of Nipsey Hussle’s The Marathon clothing store. Tragically, Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot outside that store in 2019, leading to its closure. Despite this, the brand and his influence persist, now permanently linked to the neighborhood through this dedication.
Also addressing the crowd was Blacc Sam, Nipsey’s older brother and CEO of The Marathon brand. He emphasized the lasting impact of Nipsey’s spirit, stating, "His spirit and his soul is here in this section." This event marks a continuing celebration of Nipsey Hussle’s contributions to his community and culture.
The renaming of this intersection not only honors Nipsey Hussle’s memory but also symbolizes the ongoing journey of The Marathon brand and the enduring influence he left behind. It stands as a powerful testament to his vision and the love shared by those closest to him.
