Jackass 5 is the final film. Johnny Knoxville confirms the stunt comedy franchise ends June 2026. Expect one last chaotic train wreck.

AceShowbiz - The upcoming Jackass 5 has been confirmed as the concluding chapter in the long-running stunt comedy franchise. Since its debut as an MTV show in 2000, Jackass has evolved into a widely successful series of feature films starring co-creator Johnny Knoxville and his daring castmates, who perform outrageous and often dangerous stunts for entertainment.
Earlier this year, Knoxville announced that the fifth main installment of the franchise is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he confirmed that this film will mark the end of the journey. "This will be the last one," Knoxville stated. "This is the natural place to end. So it's going to be absolutely awful." While he did not disclose specific stunts, Knoxville joked about the film’s chaotic nature, saying, "You hope it doesn't go well at all! Should be a f***ing train wreck. That's what you should hope for. I think we designed it that way."
Jackass originally launched as an MTV series created by Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze. The show ran for three seasons before ending in 2001. Its transition to the big screen began with the first film in 2002, featuring a cast including Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Bam Margera, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and the late Ryan Dunn. The films are known for their extreme stunts and crude humor, which have become the franchise's hallmark.
The most recent major entry, Jackass Forever (2022), followed by Jackass 4.5 the same year, brought the franchise back into the spotlight. However, during the filming of Forever, Knoxville suffered his most severe injury yet—a brain hemorrhage alongside multiple broken bones caused by a stunt involving a bull. Due to this serious injury, he has confirmed that he will no longer perform the most dangerous stunts. Instead, Knoxville is expected to take on more of an advisory role in Jackass 5, although he will continue to participate in the franchise’s classic gross-out pranks.
Longtime cast member Bam Margera is set to appear in Jackass 5, but only through archival footage. Margera was previously dismissed from Jackass Forever after violating a "wellness agreement," which led to a public fallout with the rest of the cast. Although he filed a lawsuit over his firing, it was later dropped following a private settlement. How the new film will address this chapter of the franchise remains unclear.
With Knoxville emphasizing that Jackass 5 will be the franchise’s final film, fans can anticipate an escalation in stunt intensity and the typical blend of humor and shock value the series is known for. While the movie promises plenty of laughter and cringe-worthy moments, this farewell installment is also likely to carry a bittersweet tone as it closes the book on an era of daring comedy and camaraderie.
Created by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, the Jackass series revolutionized stunt-based comedy starting with its first episode on October 1, 2000. Over more than two decades, it has left a lasting cultural impact through its fearless approach and unique brand of humor, culminating now with Jackass 5 serving as the final tribute to its legacy.
