In her reflections on this collaboration, PinkPantheress expressed her enthusiasm: “I’m so thrilled I got to work with MJ Cole on this remix. He’s honestly a garage legend and it’s kinda surreal collaborating with someone whose legacy inspired bits of my early work.”

The UK Garage genre emerged from London's vibrant club scene in the '90s and early 2000s, merging elements of house, R&B, and dub into a distinctive sound. Influential tracks from artists like So Solid Crew, Artful Dodger, and Craig David have significantly shaped the music landscape, achieving notable success on the U.K. Singles Chart.

Born in 2001, PinkPantheress has often cited UK Garage as a vital influence on her music. Her single “Pain,” released in 2021, sampled “Flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude. In an interview with NPR, she noted the genre’s popularity, remarking, “I think the reason [UK Garage] is so popular in the UK is that they’re super palatable and you can play them anywhere and everyone will know the lyrics.”

Following the original release of “Sincere,” MJ Cole enjoyed a meteoric rise in his career. His debut album, also named “Sincere,” was nominated for prestigious awards such as the Mercury Prize and the BRIT Awards. Over the years, he has produced tracks for various artists, including Dizzee Rascal and Katy B, and has remixed songs for icons like Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys.
