AceShowbiz - Katherine Schwarzenegger will never terminate these ghostly memories. As Halloween nears, the Gift of Forgiveness author gave a look at her favorite spooky traditions growing up—and cosplaying different characters with her parents Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver topped the list.
“Getting into the spooky spirit,†Katherine, 35, wrote on her Oct. 28 Instagram post. “Pumpkin patches, sticker jeans, and some littles who take Halloween very seriously. Countdown to candy starts… now.â€
Indeed, her family went all out in the costume department. Katherine first posted a throwback photo of her and her sister Christina Schwarzenegger, 34, dressed up as Barney and a fairy princess. That next Halloween, she transformed into a nurse while Maria, 69, aced her rendition of the Evil Queen from Snow White.
Another year, Katherine and her two brothers Patrick Schwarzenegger, 32, and Christopher Schwarzenegger, 28, wore matching Batman and Robin costumes. Meanwhile, Maria went as Cruella DeVille and Arnold, 78—who split from the journalist in 2011—kept it casual in a black top and jeans.
And now that the Good Night Sister writer has a family of her own, she and her husband Chris Pratt are creating their own Halloween memories with their kids Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and 11-month-old Ford. In the post, Katherine shared a sweet shot of her daughters picking out pumpkins in similar fall-themed dresses.
This isn’t the first time KatherineChris’ 13-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris—has detailed how her upbringing has influenced her family life. In fact, she’s introduced one of her favorite past activities to her little ones.
“I would say storytime is a really great part of our parenting journey,†Katherine told Us Weekly on Sept. 2. “We don’t really do a lot of electronic stuff in our house. So, we try to have our kids be outdoors and be creative and really kind of go back to the roots of how we all grew up.â€
And true to that consistency, she noted that “storytime and book reading†have become a “big part of our daily routine every single day.â€
“Our kids want to read books morning, noon and night,†she continued. “And I feel really like this is such a sweet time that you know your kid comes up to you and says, ‘Can you read me a story? Can you read me a story?’ So, I’m really excited just being in that space now as a mom.â€
But for now, the kids are counting down the days until they can wear their spooky costumes. Other stars are also preparing for Halloween, including Paris Hilton who brought some magic to Vas Morgan, Michael Braun and Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves' Halloween bash as Tinker Bell. Mindy Kaling also shared her Halloween spirit on Instagram.
