AceShowbiz - Pottermore Publishing and Audible have revealed an exciting expansion to the cast of the highly anticipated Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions. This new wave of talent promises to bring even more depth and magic to the beloved wizarding world, featuring an array of acclaimed actors stepping into iconic roles.
Among the most prominent additions is veteran actor Bill Nighy, known to fans for his role as Rufus Scrimgeour in the film series, who will now lend his distinctive voice to the charming Potions Master, Professor Slughorn. Joining him are Saoirse-Monica Jackson, celebrated for her work in Derry Girls, who will portray the eccentric Divination teacher Professor Trelawney, and á¹¢á»páº¹Ì DìrÃsù of Black Rabbit fame, taking on the pivotal role of Sirius Black.
The stellar lineup continues with Mackenzie Crook from The Office as the house-elf Kreacher, and the versatile Anna Maxwell Martin (Bleak House) embodying the notoriously gossipy journalist Rita Skeeter. Comedian and actor Stephen Mangan (Billy Elliot) is set to play the spectral Nearly Headless Nick, while Tracy-Ann Oberman will voice the Quidditch instructor Madam Hooch. Rounding out this impressive group is Millie Gubby (Aspects of Love) as the wonderfully unique Luna Lovegood.
The new cast also introduces specific talent for younger characters across different audiobooks. Jude Farrant (Matilda the Musical) will portray Draco Malfoy for the first three audiobooks, with Maximus Evans (Coronation Street) taking over the role for audiobooks four through seven. Similarly, Jake Sigsworth will voice Neville Longbottom in the initial three installments, before Archie Mountain continues the character's journey from audiobook four onwards. Even stunt double David Holmes, who worked on the original films, joins as Stan Shunpike.
These additions underscore a commitment to creating an immersive and comprehensive auditory experience for fans of the Harry Potter saga. With a blend of familiar voices and fresh talent, the full-cast audio editions are poised to offer a captivating new way to revisit J.K. Rowling's magical world, building on previous casting announcements that have already generated considerable buzz.
