AceShowbiz - The wait is finally over for fans of the murder mystery series Miss Scarlet, as the release date for season 6 has been revealed. Created by Rachael New and debuting in October 2020, Miss Scarlet brings together crime drama with the historical setting of Victorian times, focusing on the titular Eliza Scarlet (played by Kate Phillips) as she takes over her late father's detective agency.

Miss Scarlet season 6 was confirmed earlier this year, with several cast changes soon following. It was announced in February that Evan McCabe will not reprise his role as Oliver Fitzroy. Just days later, news followed that Felix Solis will not return as Patrick Nash in Miss Scarlet season 6. As it juggles those significant departures, the long-running series will soon make its way back to audiences.

Masterpiece Mystery on PBS has revealed that Miss Scarlet season 6 will premiere on December 7. It will be available to stream on PBS and PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video. The series will then have its broadcast premiere on January 11 at 8 PM ET on PBS. The new season will focus on Eliza's evolving relationship with Blake (played by Tom Durant-Pritchard). The duo discovers that working together may be challenging. As for Ivy (Cathy Belton) and Mr. Potts (Simon Ludders), they adjust to life as newlyweds.

A new detective joins Scotland Yard, and it's also teased that Nash will cause chaos across the globe, with Moses Valentine (played by Ansu Kabia) making a long-awaited return. The returning Miss Scarlet cast members include Kate Phillips as Eliza Scarlet, Tom Durant-Pritchard as DI Alexander Blake, Cathy Belton as Ivy, and Simon Ludders as Mr. Potts. New additions to the Miss Scarlet cast include Sam Buchanan as Detective George Willows and Grace Hogg-Robinson as Isabel Summers.

Originally titled Miss Scarlet and The Duke, the name changed to Miss Scarlet when Stuart Martin exited the period drama at the end of season 4. The show, co-written by Rachael New and Ben Edwards, is navigating a transitional period, but it will continue to feature many of the faces that fans have come to love. Miss Scarlet returns on the same night as All Creatures Great and Small, which airs at 7 PM ET on PBS, promising plenty of twists and turns when the series makes its much-awaited return.
