AceShowbiz - President Donald Trump couldn't resist taking a jab at Taylor Swift while hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at the White House to celebrate their impressive Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Trump made the sarcastic remarks as the NFL team, minus quarterback Jalen Hurts and a few other players, paid a visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
During his speech, Trump recalled his presence at the big game, "I was there along with Taylor Swift," he noted, before adding a rhetorical question, "How did that work out?" His comment elicited laughter from the crowd.
Swift, who attended the game to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has been staying low with the athlete following the Chiefs' defeat to the Eagles, with a final score of 22-40.
This isn't the first time Trump has targeted Taylor Swift. Following her endorsement of Kamala Harris for president ahead of the 2024 election, Trump took to his Truth Social platform in September 2024 to write, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
He doubled down on his animosity in an interview with Fox & Friends, suggesting Swift would "pay a price" for her political stance, "But she's a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she'll probably pay a price for it… in the marketplace."
Swift, who was booed by football fans when shown on the Super Bowl jumbotron during the game, has made her political leanings clear, emphasizing the need for "calm and not chaos."
For young fans of both sports and pop culture, this clash between a former president and a music icon serves as a reminder of how intertwined and unpredictable the worlds of entertainment and politics can be.
