Following a brief fallout, Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey is back with The Who - here's what happened and what it means for Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey.

AceShowbiz - In a surprising twist, The Who reversed its decision to part ways with long-time drummer Zak Starkey. Just days after announcing Starkey's departure, guitarist Pete Townshend took to social media to announce Starkey's re-instatement.

"News Flash! Who back Zak!" Townshend declared on Instagram, reasserting that Starkey "is not being asked to step down from The Who." He blamed "communication issues" for the confusion.

Initially, the band had announced Starkey's exit following an alleged dispute over his performance at a charity concert at London's Royal Albert Hall. "The band made a collective decision to part ways with Zak after this round of shows at the Royal Albert Hall," a representative stated.

Starkey, the son of The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and godson of original The Who drummer Keith Moon, confirmed the split and expressed pride in his tenure.

"I'm very proud of my near thirty years with The Who. Filling the shoes of my Godfather, 'uncle Keith' has been the biggest honor and I remain their biggest fan," he said, adding that he had a serious medical issue earlier in the year but now completely healed and it didn't impact his drumming.

Frontman Roger Daltrey was reportedly upset with Starkey's performance during the benefit concert. "To sing that song I do need to hear the key, and I can't. All I've got is drums going boom, boom, boom," the vocalist complained mid-performance.

This remarks came after Daltrey made an unexpected revelation during the March 27 concert, disclosing that he was "slowly going deaf and blind."

In his latest statement, Townshend exlained, "Roger and I would like Zak to tighten up his latest evolved drumming style to accommodate our non-orchestral line up and he has readily agreed. I take responsibility for some of the confusion."
