AceShowbiz - "Pitch Perfect" star Adam Devine opened up about an odd incident involving Zac Efron, a fellow actor and friend. During an episode of the "In Depth With Graham Bensinger" podcast, he recounted how Efron reached out to him out of the blue with an unanticipated request after years of no contact.

"Zac calls me - hasn't called me in a couple years - and calls me out of the blue," Devine recalled. According to Devine, Efron called from "some private island somewhere" and asked if he could stay at Devine's beach house for two weeks.

Devine described their call, "He's like, 'Hey man, I just want to let you know that I miss you.' And I'm like, 'I miss you too, dude. You're a good friend of mine, yada, yada.' "

The conversation led Efron to inquire about the beach house. "He's like, 'Would it be cool if I came and crashed with you for two weeks?' " Davine's response was positive, "And I'm like 'Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, come stay with me.' " Efron then said he would call the next day to finalize the details.

When Devine informed his wife, Chloe Bridges, she was quite welcoming as well. "I'm like, 'Chloe, I think Zac's going to come live here for a couple weeks. I don't know.' And she's like, 'OK, yeah, I guess so,' " he recounted on the podcast.

However, the eagerly anticipated visit never transpired. "And then he ghosted me, dude. Never called back," Devine lamented. He added that he even texted Efron to confirm, but received no response. "Are you gonna stay here?" he texted, but Efron never replied.

Devine shared that he hasn't spoken to Efron since that unusual exchange. "I have no idea, dude, no idea," he said, clearly puzzled by the mysterious disappearance of their plans.

The two actors had developed a friendship after working together in their 2016 film, "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates."

While fans are left curious about the reason behind Efron's sudden silence, neither the Disney alum nor his representatives have commented on the matter.
