Houston rapper Sauce Walka has a close call in a targeted drive-by shooting that has tragically left one person dead at the scene outside a Memphis hotel.

AceShowbiz - Houston-born rapper Sauce Walka, whose real name is Albert Walker Mondane, was injured in a shooting outside the Westin Hotel near the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Texas on Saturday, March 22.

The 34-year-old artist was one of two men shot around 2:42 P.M. His family told TMZ that the rapper was left with a leg wound, but thankfully in non-critical condition and expected to make a full recovery. Tragically, the other man involved in the shooting was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local law enforcement described the incident as a targeted drive-by shooting rather than a random act of violence, indicating an ongoing investigation to apprehend the responsible parties. Police have identified the vehicle involved in the shooting, though the identities of the victims and suspects remain unconfirmed.

Unverified reports suggest that Sayso P, an artist signed to Sauce Walka's independent record label The Sauce Factory, might be the individual who lost his life in the incident. The Memphis Police Department has yet to officially verify these reports.

Sauce Walka began his musical journey in 2007 under the stage name A-Walk and was part of the rap group Mostheadgiver before venturing into a solo career in 2014.

He has since released numerous mixtapes and made a significant impact on the Houston rap scene. In 2015, he gained widespread attention with the diss track "Wack 2 Wack," directed at Drake, accusing him of appropriating Houston's slang and hip-hop culture.

Beyond his music, Sauce Walka has a diverse portfolio of business ventures, including a boxing gym, a retail outlet, and investments in real estate.

He claimed to have declined a multimillion-dollar offer from Jay-Z and Roc Nation to maintain his independence as an artist. The artist's entrepreneurial spirit was likely influenced by his father, professional wrestler Al Rage Walker.

The recent incident underscores the ongoing issue of violence affecting young artists in the hip-hop music industry. As fans await further details and look forward to Sauce Walka's full recovery, the community continues to grapple with the loss of another promising talent.
