AceShowbiz - After years of hiatus, Jessica Simpson made a triumphant comeback to the stage during the Recording Academy's Austin Chapter Block Party at SXSW. The 44-year-old songstress performed a captivating set that included her renditions of classics as well as debuting new singles and unreleased tracks.

Simpson's set included fan-favorite covers of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " and Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man", songs that resonated deeply with the audience.

These performances were complemented by the live debut of her new tracks "Breadcrumbs" and "Blame Me". Additionally, she presented her recent singles "Use My Heart Against Me" and "Leave".

At the Grammy Block Party, Simpson shared heartfelt insights into her artistic revival. "This time I needed to remember who I was and why I wanted to sing in the first place and all the music that inspires me," she expressed. "And I needed to forget who they told me to be."

This revived spirit of authenticity is also evident in her upcoming EP, "Nashville Canyon: Part 1", set to release on March 21. This project, recorded amid her separation from husband Eric Johnson, marks Simpson's first collection of new music since 2009's "Happy Christmas".

"I got thrown a real twist of fate in the middle of making this record," she confided to People magazine about the turmoil in her personal life. "My heart was completely broken. I had to continue to focus on the music. Thank God, I had Nashville."

Her daughter Maxwell, now 12, played an instrumental role in encouraging Simpson's return to her musical roots. "She wanted to go to Nashville for her 11th birthday and said, 'You know that song by Hank Williams, 'I Saw the Light?' It's my favorite song and I want to go where the light is,' " Simpson recalled.

Hours before her performance at SXSW, Simpson teased her fans with an Instagram Reel, playfully hinting at her upcoming show while waiting for a rental car. Her post was met with excitement from fans eager to witness her comeback.
