AceShowbiz - After taking a brief hiatus, Lil Nas X is proving that his time off was anything but a vacation. The rapper recently released multiple singles, and his latest track "Big Dummy" is already making waves.
Over a bass-heavy beat, Lil Nas X warns that he's taking no prisoners this year. "B***h, I'm in my prime like a paintbrush/ Big s**t poppin', walkin' 'round in a mink vest/ Whoop-whoop, talkin' ain't tryna hear the stank breath/ B***h, shut the f**k up unless she's got a big chef for me," he raps with his characteristic flair.
The minimalist video for "Big Dummy" showcases Lil Nas X in a white void, donning a pink shirt and black jeans with pink crosses and wings, accompanied by three dancers in matching pink outfits. The visuals complement the song's bare-bones production, culminating in a performance that's both captivating and stylish.
Lil Nas X shows off his fun side in the sing-songy chorus. "In the club, cuttin' up/ Gettin' drunk while I'm pickin' out my pick-me/ All my opps and my simps gettin' low/ 'Cause they want but they know they can't get me," he sings before diving back into some explicit lyrics.
Earlier in the week, Lil Nas X surprised fans with the drop of "Dreamboy," where he exudes newfound confidence. "I was scared then, ain't scared now/ Weren't ready then, but I'm ready now," he raps over a catchy piano melody.
The "Dreamboy" album serves as a follow-up to his successful 2021 debut, "Montero," although its official release date remains under wraps.
In addition to "Big Dummy" and "Dreamboy," Lil Nas X is set to unveil another new single, "Hotbox," this Friday. Teasing the track last month with a video on social media, the rapper has built anticipation, promising "surprises" for those who pre-save the song on his website. The site even declares, "It's Hotbox Season."
Last month, Lil Nas X also shared two tracks titled "Light Again" and "Need Dat Boy." Furthermore, he has been busy collaborating with artists like Camila Cabello on "He Knows" and Kevin Abstract on "Tennessee."
Though the full "Dreamboy" album has yet to be released, Lil Nas X's recent releases demonstrate that the rapper remains at the cutting edge of music, ready to captivate and inspire his audience.
