AceShowbiz - The anticipated Gracie Abrams concert in Brussels scheduled for February 28, which was a part of her ongoing "The Secret of Us Tour," has been canceled. The Grammy-nominated artist revealed that she had been battling a "gnarly" sickness for over a week and following medical advice, she was compelled to cancel her performance.
In a heartfelt handwritten note shared on her Instagram Stories, Abrams expressed her sorrow, "First thing I have to say is that I love you with my whole heart, and I have been so looking forward to being together in your beautiful city."
She went on to state, "My body has been fighting off something gnarly for the past week, and despite doing everything in my power to keep it contained, it has gotten to a point where all medical advice I've received says I cannot perform and need to rest."
Abrams acknowledged the effort and planning that fans put into attending her shows and conveyed her disappointment at not being able to deliver the performance they deserved.
"At this point in time I can't give you the show you deserve and that breaks my heart, especially knowing all the travel and the planning and the care that you put into attending our show," she wrote.
The European leg of "The Secret of Us Tour" which had started in Madrid on February 8, was halfway through with upcoming shows scheduled in Nottingham, England on March 3. Abrams further reassured her fans that she and her team "are working to figure this out" and will provide "further information as quickly as possible."
She added, "Our every intention is to make this right and I promise we'll be in touch as soon as we have concrete details."
In the meantime, the tour's opening act, Dora Jar, seized the opportunity to create a special moment for the fans. She announced an impromptu performance at L'Archiduc, a cocktail lounge in Brussels, for anyone who still wanted to get together and enjoy some music.
Abrams used her platform to praise Jar, writing, "I love your heart and your brain and I will miss you all so much tonight."
Following the completion of the European leg in mid-March, Gracie Abrams is set to proceed with the tour in Asia and Oceania, before returning to Europe in July and finally wrapping up in North America through mid-August. Her dedication to her fans remains evident as she navigates her health challenges and promises more details soon.
