The highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic 'Constantine' is officially in the works, promising to be a yet another exciting collaboration between actor Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence.

AceShowbiz - After years of attempts to make a follow-up, "Constantine" sequel is finally coming to fruition. Lead star Keanu Reeves revealed he had presented a story pitch to DC Studios and they approved.
"We've been trying to make this film for over a decade," Reeves stated, "and we just recently put a story together and pitched it to DC Studios and they said, 'OK.' "
Reeves confirmed that "Constantine 2" will remain faithful to the 2005 original, set in the same world and featuring the return of John Constantine, the tormented exorcist who can travel to hell and see the true forms of angels and demons.
"We're not going off that," Reeves said. "John Constantine's going to be tortured even more."
The update came after original director Francis Lawrence said they're "closer than ever to being able to do a sequel." He added, "We have gone through a bunch of the comics over the years and looked at things."
The original "Constantine", released in 2005, was a box office success and has since become a cult favorite among fans. It starred Reeves alongside Rachel Weisz.
While no release date has been set for "Constantine 2", these updates suggest that the project is moving forward at a steady pace, and fans can soon expect to witness the return of the enigmatic John Constantine.
