Taking to Instagram on Valentine's Day, Draven revealed this significant life update alongside a message about the importance of self-love and authenticity.
"As today is a day to celebrate love and what love truly means, whether it's for a partner, family, or ourselves, I thought it would be the perfect time to show some love to myself," Draven penned in a touching note.
Draven said they grappled with their true identity for years, often trying to be someone they weren't. However, in August 2024, they made the pivotal decision to embrace their true self by beginning hormone replacement therapy (HRT). "It has been the best decision I've ever made in my life," they shared.
Draven highlighted the unwavering support they've received from friends and family, notably their mother, Samantha Bennington.
Samantha, married to Chester from 1996 to 2005, too to the comments section to show her unwavering love, "I'm so proud of you. I love you with all my heart and soul. You're my favorite human on the planet. I just want you happy and healthy forever and always."
Draven's illustrious father, Chester Bennington, passed away by suicide in July 2017 after a prolonged struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. Besides Draven, Chester left behind five other children, Tyler, 18, twin daughters Lily and Lila, 13, from his second marriage to Talinda Bentley, and sons Jamie, 28, and Isaiah, 27, from his relationship with Elka Brand.
Draven has pursued a career in music, aspiring to leave a lasting impact on fans just like Chester did. "Every time I hear somebody's story, telling like how much my dad's music impacted their life, I just think it's really beautiful," Draven mentioned in a 2023 interview with People.
Draven's recent Instagram post resonates deeply with their message of self-acceptance and love. "With all the support and love I've received, I've built the strength to love myself. This is why I'm choosing to no longer hide who I am. Love is love. Happy Valentine's Day," they declared.
