SZA expressed gratitude towards Kendrick Lamar for inviting her to share the stage during the historic Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans over the weekend.

SZA thanked Lamar profusely for his support and leadership. " THANK YOU @kendricklamar for consistently putting the world on your back . At all times . Thank you for lifting me up . Thank you for encouraging me and being so willing to bend to whatever I may need. Thank you to your incredible team and mine ! You're a prophet . But you knew that (sic)."

Lamar's performance, which featured an intro by Samuel L. Jackson and a mix of his hits as well as a surprise cameo by Serena Williams, was widely praised as an unfiltered hip-hop showcase although there were some technical issues with its sound, which led to rumors of lip-sync. SZA joined the rapper for two songs, "Luther" and "All the Stars."

"I wasn't nervous today," SZA claimed. "I was ready to rep for u. For US . Thank you God ,Dot, and the NFL for this opportunity #SUPERBOWL2025 wrapped (sic)."

The performance marked a milestone in Super Bowl halftime show history. Lamar was the first solo rapper to headline the event.

Hours after the show, Kendrick Lamar and SZA announced the expansion of their joint tour.
