AceShowbiz - Hollywood is buzzing with speculation about the famous celebrity that fell out with Reese Witherspoon. The "Legally Blonde" actress recently revealed that she and an unnamed actress were no longer on speaking terms because of a disastrous awards show speech.
While Witherspoon didn't name names, eagle-eyed fans quickly pointed the finger at fellow A-list actress Kate Winslet. Back in 2007, the "Big Little Lies" stunner did present the "Titanic" beauty with an award at BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards.
In her speech, the Hello Sunshine co-founder cracked multiple jokes about the "Sense and Sensibility" actress, including a story about laser hair removal.
This seemingly matched the story recounted by Witherspoon during her new interview with Will Ferrell to promote their latest movie "You're Cordially Invited". Witherspoon described the event as "elegant" and "classy" British ceremony.
However, instead of delivering a heartfelt tribute, she opted for a more comedic approach, filled with jokes and anecdotes. "So I got up and I roasted her," she recalled. "I was like, 'Remember the time we got laser hair removal?' "
"I thought it was so funny and it was just, I had the wrong audience," she lamented, insisting she intended no harm. "It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn't talk to me anymore."
"I misjudged the tone of the event," Witherspoon sounded so remorseful as she admitted her mistake, adding that the memory still embarrassed her. "It literally haunts me."
