AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt is attached to headline Paramount Pictures' "Heart of the Beast," according to an insider with knowledge of the project. Directed by "The Suicide Squad" helmer David Ayer, the film reunites Pitt and Ayer after their collaboration on the 2014 drama "Fury."
Pitt will portray a former Army Special Forces soldier who, along with his retired combat dog, must fight for survival after their plane crashes deep in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. The script was penned by Cameron Alexander, who will also serve as executive producer.
For Pitt, "Heart of the Beast" marks his follow-up to Apple's "F1" racing film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and set for release on June 27. He recently starred in Apple TV+'s "Wolfs" alongside George Clooney.
In addition to his acting roles, Pitt has been active as a producer. His Plan B banner produced "Nickel Boys," which earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay, as well as "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" and "Bob Marley: One Love." He also holds executive producer credits on Bong Joon-ho's "Mickey 17," Nia DaCosta's "Hedda," and Paramount's upcoming "Children of Blood and Bone."
