During a recent episode of the "Sorry We're Cyrus" podcast, Miley's mom Tish Cyrus, 57, and Miley's sister Brandi Cyrus, 37, shared some laughs and candid thoughts about men, eventually leaving fans convinced they were hinting at Liam.
"Men are trash," Brandi declared, later adding, "They're all just garbage. Men are just so f***king dense but there's a couple of good ones out there I guess, and I think I've found one, so we love that for me."
As Brandi is gushing over her new Australian boyfriend, Matt South, Tish wholeheartedly agreed, sharing, "I have my hopes up for Matt. He's Australian. I'm not gonna rag on American men but Australian men are just different."
Brandi cheekily chimed in, "Well, not all of them," to which Tish quickly agreed, "Oh, that's true," before both women burst into laughter.
While they avoided naming names, their listeners - affectionately known as Stoners - were quick to catch on. One fan commented on YouTube, "The way they called out Liam Hemsworth," coupled with laughing emojis.
Miley and Liam's relationship has been a rollercoaster of love and heartbreak. The pair met while filming "The Last Song" in 2009 and after a series of breakups and makeups, they married in December 2018 after their house was destroyed in fire.
Miley later admitted the devastating house fire led to her wedding with Liam. "I'm not sure without losing Malibu, we would've been ready to take this step or ever even gotten married, who can say? But the timing felt right and I go with my heart," she told Vanity Fair.
Unfortunately, the marriage was short-lived, with their split finalizing in January 2020. Reflecting on the relationship, Miley admitted it was a dark period in her life.
Miley has since moved on and found love with Liily drummer Maxx Morando since 2021. Meanwhile, Liam has been dating Gabriella Brooks since late 2019, making their relationship public in June 2021.
