TJ and Amy addressed the controversy on Friday's episode of their podcast, "Does This Make Me Look Fat?" Robach, 51, revealed that she, too, has used clothes pins to secure her clothing in the past. While Holmes, 47, admitted that he has never done so, he suggested that wardrobe professionals might have assisted Muir in this manner.

Holmes emphasized the importance of considering the perspectives of those involved in the situation. He explained that wardrobe workers may have made the decision to use clothespins on Muir's jacket without his knowledge. He also highlighted Muir's dedication to his work.

Robach echoed Holmes's defense, stating that Muir does not deserve the backlash he has received. She added that journalists often try to maintain a professional appearance, but the reality on the ground can be different from what is presented in front of the camera.

However, Holmes acknowledged that it is important for TV journalists to be aware of how they present themselves, especially in the midst of a tragedy. He asserted that journalists should care about their appearance to a reasonable extent, but should not appear excessively concerned with it.

While Holmes and Robach sided with Muir, fellow anchor Megyn Kelly accused Muir of vanity and suggested that he was more concerned with his appearance than with the severity of the situation.

Muir has not publicly commented on the controversy. However, he appeared on Thursday's report from LA with an unzipped jacket that was not tailored to his figure. This suggests that he may have taken the criticism into consideration.
