AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, announced the heartbreaking news of the passing of her cherished beagle, Guy, who she rescued a decade ago. The loss has left her deeply devastated.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Meghan shared a video compilation showcasing the beautiful bond she shared with Guy. She adopted him in 2015 from a dog rescue in Canada, where he had been given only days to live. With his frail and small frame, he was lovingly named "Guy."
The tribute post also features Meghan's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Near the end of the video, one of the kids is heard serenading the furry canine with a sweet song, "We love you Guy, oh yes we do, we love you guy and we'll be true, when you're not near us, we're blue."
Meghan expressed her immense gratitude for Guy's constant companionship through life's biggest milestones. He was present during her time on the show "Suits," her engagement and wedding to Prince Harry, and the birth of her children.
Guy faced a serious accident in 2017, requiring multiple surgeries over several months. With the unwavering support of Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick and Meghan's determination, he defied expectations and eventually regained his mobility.
Meghan also revealed that Guy will be featured in her upcoming Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan." She expressed her hope that viewers will come to understand the depth of her love for him and share in her grief.
"I have cried too many tears to count," Meghan wrote. "The type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them."
In addition to Guy, Meghan and Prince Harry are parents to two other rescue dogs, Mia and Pula. In 2022, Harry affectionately referred to them as their "children" and highlighted their role as emotional support dogs.
Meghan concluded her heartfelt message with a touching tribute to Guy, "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you'll never know. As ever, Meghan."
