A former employee who used to work for Nicki Minaj during her 'Pink Friday 2' tour has launched a lawsuit after he was allegedly assaulted and dismissed by the rapper.

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, is facing a lawsuit filed by a former tour employee who alleges the rapper physically assaulted him during an altercation backstage at a Detroit concert in April 2023.

Brandon Garrett, who served as a day-to-day manager on the femcee's "Pink Friday 2" tour, claims the incident occurred after a disagreement over the retrieval of her prescription medication.

According to court documents filed by Garrett in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nicki became enraged when she learned that another tour employee, hospitality manager Luke Montgomery, had picked up her prescription instead of him.

"Ms. [Deb] Antney [former manager] asked why Mr. Montgomery was picking up prescriptions on behalf of Defendant Maraj," the complaint reads. "Plaintiff responded that he had Mr. Montgomery pick up a prescription in the past because Defendant Maraj wanted it immediately, but Plaintiff was occupied at the venue with Defendant Maraj in the quick change room during a performance because one of his job duties was assisting Defendant Maraj with dressing during performances."

This explanation did not appease Minaj, who allegedly "angrily screamed" at Garrett, threatening him with violence and stating, "You're a dead man walking. You just f***ed up your whole life and you will never be anyone, I'll make sure of it."

The situation escalated further when Minaj demanded details about the prescription from Montgomery, who struggled to recall specific information. Frustrated, Minaj allegedly "screamed" at him to search his phone for the relevant details.

As the confrontation intensified, Minaj allegedly moved closer to Montgomery's face, continuing to yell. Garrett claims that Minaj then "open-handedly struck Plaintiff on the right side of his face, causing his head to swing backwards as his hat flew off his head."

The alleged assault did not stop there. According to the lawsuit, Minaj then "struck Plaintiff on his right wrist, knocking the documents in Plaintiff's hand onto the floor" before ordering him out of the room.

Fearing for his safety, Garrett retreated to a restroom and locked himself inside for several hours, contacting his fiancé to inform him of the incident. He described his wrist as throbbing and his face as sore.

The following day, Garrett was informed that he would not be transported with the tour from Detroit to Chicago. Instead, he had to fly separately, fearing for his safety and the potential tampering of his belongings.

Upon arriving in Chicago, Garrett contacted the Chicago Police Department, requesting a police escort to his hotel. He subsequently returned to Detroit to file a formal police report.

The lawsuit alleges assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, seeking unspecified damages.
