Despite ongoing legal battles over custody and their French estate, the 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood' actor and the 'Maleficent' actress have now reached a settlement.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie, 49, and Brad Pitt, 61, signed off on their divorce on December 30, 2023, according to Jolie's lawyers. Eight years have passed since Jolie first filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
"More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt," her lawyer, James Simon, stated. "She and the children left their shared properties, and since then, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family."
Jolie's statement suggests that the settlement is part of an ongoing process that began with the initial filing. She expressed both exhaustion and relief over the completion of this particular stage.
Both parties have agreed to a jury trial lasting 10 to 15 days, as well as a settlement conference or mediation session as an alternative dispute resolution method.
In the past, the former couple has engaged in "strained" divorce negotiations, including custody disputes and accusations made in court filings. However, in 2017, they agreed to handle their divorce privately, pledging to maintain confidentiality and engage a private judge.
In the years since their divorce was bifurcated in 2019, Pitt and Jolie have continued to battle over custody and legal issues related to their $164 million French estate, Château Miraval.
In February 2022, Pitt sued Jolie over her sale of her stake in Chateau Miraval. Jolie filed a countersuit, accusing her ex-husband of "waging a vindictive war" against her.
Despite the legal battles over Miraval, which are not connected to the divorce proceedings, the pair have agreed to a settlement. This development marks a significant step in their long and complex divorce.
