AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj is probably having morning sickness these days. The hip-hop artist, who has been married to Kenneth Petty for five years, is reported to be expecting her second child with her husband.
Media Take Out first reported the news, claiming that it has been hearing for weeks that the Trinidadian raptress was trying to get pregnant. Citing their previous difficult pregnancy and their preference to remain private, the site claims that the raptress and her husband are not expected to make any announcement anytime soon.
While the pair have not spoken up on the impending addition to their family, Nicki's close friend says that both Nicki and her baby are doing well, and that Kenneth is doting over his pregnant wife, like a good and supportive husband he is.
Nicki announced she had tied the knot with Kenneth in October 2019. In July 2020, she revealed that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth to her son, affectionately called "Papa Bear," on September 30, 2020.
While she mostly has kept details of her family private, the Grammy-nominated artist revealed during Instagram Live in September that she almost named her son after the incarcerated Jamaican dancehall icon, Ninja Man.
"When I was pregnant, all I did was watch Ninja Man all day," the 42-year-old explained, to which Kenneth visibly disagreed. "I think I told you guys I was going to call the baby Ninja. My husband didn't really want me to call the baby Ninja, but I thought it was dope, you know. I had asked people around me and they said yes. I don't see anything wrong with it. You know, Ninja."
Previously, in an interview with Vogue published in November 2023, she spoke about the origins of her son's nickname. "I've always been a nickname person," she expressed. "I give everyone I love these nicknames, normally. He actually had a couple nicknames. His first nickname while he was in my stomach was 'Bubba.' When he came out, it just transformed into 'Papa Bear.' I can't explain it, but when I looked at him, that's what I thought."
