AceShowbiz - Ice Spice has sparked controversy with her recent activity involving a bunch of children. The "Princess Diana" raptress was met with criticisms from social media users after surprising young girls in New York City.
On Monday, December 23, a series of videos highlighting the female hip-hop artist and a crowd of young girls made their rounds on Instagram. In the clips, it could be seen that she made a surprise by showing up at a basketball arena, where the girls had gathered.
Ice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, was documented walking towards the girls, including those who were cheering on her, and waving one of her hands. As she approached the girls, many of them could not hide their excitement.
Some of them even jumped several times while filming Ice, who was joined by her entourage, with their smartphones. At one point, the "Barbie World" raptress shook their hands after getting close enough to them.
One of the short clips showed the girls sitting down on the field while Ice stood in front of them. Holding a microphone in her hand, she exclaimed, "Happy holiday, you guys!" prompting them to scream in excitement.
The other footage, meanwhile, saw Ice answering some questions from the young girls. Before answering one question, she took her time to compliment one of the kids for being "so cute," leaving the girl blushing.
It did not take long for the post to be flooded with online responses from Instagram users. In the comments section, one in particular wrote, "she is so high n don't got no clothes on." Another chimed in, "Poor kids.. this is their Aaliyah, Brandy, Monica, etc." A third noted, "The children in New York need higher standards clearly."
A fourth stated, "This is actually heartbreaking. they have this young women come speak to kids as if she's some outstanding Role model or someone to look up too. Is This the best they can offer to our black and Hispanic children? She shows no true image of how a black Women should act, dress, and present themselves in public. this is the white mans agenda and we are feeding into it!"
