AceShowbiz - Brandi Glanville is stressed out as she's "desperately" searching for answers amid her battle with facial disfigurement, which she believes might be caused by a parasitic infection. The 52-year-old reality TV star candidly discussed her ordeal on PageSix's "Virtual Reali-Tea" podcast, revealing that the condition has profoundly affected her mental health and has left her in a deep depression.
Glanville shared that she restarted her antibiotics after noticing significant changes in her appearance, such as her face beginning to "sink in." She lamented, "I prefer [my face] when it's a little swollen, to be honest. When it's only swollen on one side, it's not great. But the sinking in thing is killing me slowly, because I just feel like I look like a crackhead."
This unsettling health issue has haunted Glanville for over two years, impacting her ability to work and socialize. "It's hard to hide out during Christmas when everyone's having their parties. It's depressing. It just hurts my brain and my heart," she explained.
"The pain is more mental than anything, because I have been hiding and going through a deep, deep depression. Even if I could work now, at this point, I couldn't. So it's just been a really rough two years for me."
Brandi's appearance has also frightened her children, causing her to wear a mask around the house to prevent scaring them. She recounted, "They would try and calm me down and say I look normal and fine, but I knew better. I honestly scared them a couple times. They were like, 'What is happening?' [My face] went from being like really fat and swollen to now, like, sinking in."
The mystery behind her condition has sparked consultations with numerous specialists, including Dr. Dubrow, a prominent plastic surgeon who has weighed in on her situation. Dubrow suggested that her disfigurement might be due to an infectious process or a foreign-body reaction to something injected, rather than a parasite. He advised that it's crucial for Glanville to get a solid diagnosis to avoid further complications.
Despite countless medical consultations and spending over $70,000 on tests and treatments, Glanville continues to seek a definitive answer. She noted that all fillers in her face have been dissolved and she's seen the best doctors available. In a standout moment, she honestly reflected, "Honestly, health is wealth and that's all I want."
As she continues to navigate this challenging path, Brandi Glanville remains transparent with her fans, sharing her journey in hopes of finding a solution and reclaiming her health and wellness. The reality TV star remains hopeful that 2025 will bring a breakthrough, allowing her to finally move past this harrowing chapter.
