Delevingne portrays a young John, sporting his signature glasses and suit. The video reimagines the behind-the-scenes chaos of the original shoot, with producers scrambling to create a festive atmosphere and wrangle a turkey.

John revealed that he was inspired by Delevingne's performance at Glastonbury Festival last summer. "When someone suggested the idea of her playing me, I thought it was perfect," he said. "Thank God Cara thought the same."

Delevingne, a longtime admirer of John, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. "To say his music has had a profound effect on me is an understatement," she said. "I hope Elton will return the favor and play me in my biopic."

Released in November 1973, "Step Into Christmas" became a festive favorite, reaching No. 56 in the US and No. 1 on the Billboard Christmas Singles chart. It was certified gold in 2021.
