Cole hinted at the impending release of new music, hinting it would be ready by the time the Dreamville Festival rolls around in April 2025. This revelation aligns with his recent reflections on his career, including detailing his mixtapes and albums on the Inevitable podcast and releasing his first three mixtapes on streaming services.
Furthermore, Cole hinted that his forthcoming album, "The Fall Off", may be his final. He has teased the album since 2018, and in February, he claimed it was nearly complete. During his Tampa show, he announced its imminent release, stating, "I'm at the tail-end of working on this album... It's called 'The Fall Off'."
During the concert held at Madison Square Garden, Cole performed a 23-track setlist including deep cuts, fan favorites, and hit singles. The stage was modeled after his childhood home featured on the album cover, and he made 2,014 tickets available for just $1 each.
Cole's performance included songs from 2014 Forest Hills Drive, such as "Wet Dreamz," "03' Adolescence," and "Fire Squad." He also debuted "2Face" from Friday Night Lights live for the first time and performed other hits like "Nobody's Perfect," "Power Trip," and "Work Out."
The announcement of the final Dreamville Festival next year has fueled speculation about Cole's retirement from music. Cole's manager, Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad, shared on social media that the festival has been a rewarding experience and thanked attendees. The festival will take place on April 5 and 6 in North Carolina, not far from Cole's hometown.
While Cole has not confirmed an exact release date for "The Fall Off", his recent hints suggest that the album and the festival will mark a significant moment in his career. Fans eagerly await the release of his new music and the last chapter of Dreamville Festival.
