AceShowbiz - Pete Davidson made a surprising return to the red carpet on Monday, December 16, attending the opening night performance of "All In: Comedy About Love". It marked Davidson's first red carpet event in 18 months.
Davidson, 31, appeared at New York City's Hudson Theatre to support his longtime friend John Mulaney, one of the stars of the romantic comedy play written by former "Saturday Night Live" writer Simon Rich. Davidson also had a brief appearance on "SNL" when Mulaney hosted in November.
Davidson's appearance marked a departure from his shaggy hair at the Los Angeles Clippers' opening game in October. Instead, he sported a clean-cut look with a buzzed haircut and a burnt-orange leather jacket.
Known for his high-profile relationships, Davidson addressed the media's focus on his dating life. "I don't want to be this loser who just dates people," he said. "That's not who I am." However, he acknowledged that the negative attention has allowed him to reflect and prioritize his values, such as health, family and "not being a drug addict."
Davidson has been keeping a low profile since entering rehab in July for mental health concerns. Sources revealed that he checked himself in due to "unpredictable" behavior following his split from actress Madelyn Cline.
Despite his recent challenges, Davidson appears focused on his personal growth. "I'm very happy where I am right now, mentally," he shared.
Davidson's appearance at Mulaney's play underscores their enduring friendship. Mulaney, who was at Pete's side during his rehab stint, mentioned Davidson as a source of support.
In addition to his acting career, Davidson has been named the creative director for sock brand Doublesoul.
