AceShowbiz - Grammy winner Ciara, 39, has launched "Dance Icon", an online dance fundraiser competition in partnership with Colossal. This competition aims to provide an unknown dancer with a breakout opportunity.
The winner of "Dance Icon" will feature in Ciara's newest music video and receive a cash prize of $20,000. Ciara, known for her impressive vocals and electrifying dance moves, believes in the transformative power of dance.
"I identify with the power of dance and how it inspires others," Ciara stated. "I thought 'Dance Icon' would be a fun way to engage with the world of dancers out there."
With her hit single "Goodies" and a Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video for Missy Elliot's "Lose Control", Ciara is a testament to the impact of dance. She has also received three Soul Train Awards for Best Dance Performance.
"Dancing allows me to express my truest creative self," Ciara shared. "I love dancing to upbeat tempos, but ultimately it's the music that inspires how I move."
"Dance Icon" will support the Why Not You Foundation, which focuses on equal education opportunities, children's health, and food security. Voting begins on February 3, 2025, and ends on April 18, 2025. Voters earn one free vote daily, with additional votes available for purchase, benefiting the Why Not You Foundation.
Dancers with the most votes will advance weekly, with the final eight competing live in Scottsdale, Arizona, before Ciara and her long-time choreographer, Jamaica Craft.
