AceShowbiz - Influencer Breckie Hill is addressing the recent Barry Keoghan hookup rumors head-on. The 21-year-old, who recently recovered from a skiing accident, took to TikTok this weekend to clarify her position.
"To put it simply for you all, no, I did not get with Barry," she said in her video. Hill emphasized, "I have never even encountered this man in my life. The only time I've seen him is on my TV screen from watching 'Saltburn.' "
The rumors began earlier this week when popular gossip account DeuxMoi posted a blind item implying that Keoghan, 32, had been unfaithful to his pop star girlfriend, Sabrina Carpenter, with a "blonde, semi-famous LA based influencer (who's particularly big on TikTok)," leading many to identify Hill as the woman in question.
Hill further clarified that her actions were misinterpreted when she reposted TikTok videos speculating about her involvement. "I reposted this video that showed up on my 'For You' page, claiming that I was homewrecking Sabrina Carpenter's relationship, just simply because I thought it was so ridiculous," she explained.
In her post, Hill expressed that she has always been against infidelity, recognizing the pain it causes based on her personal experiences. "I would never want to homewreck any relationship or put any girl through that pain - ever," she affirmed. Hill found it surreal that someone would think she was homewrecking Sabrina Carpenter's relationship while she was bedridden in a hospital following her accident.
The rumor mill hit overdrive following Carpenter and Keoghan's split, which was confirmed by People on Tuesday. Sources shared that the pair decided to "take a break" due to their young age and career-focused lifestyles.
On Saturday, December 7 amidst the increasing backlash, Keoghan deactivated his Instagram account before addressing the situation indirectly through a statement on X. Though he avoided directly mentioning the breakup or cheating allegations, he remarked on the "hatred" and "disgusting commentary" directed at him.
"I can only sit and take so much," Keoghan wrote. Asking for a basic level of respect, he concluded, "My name has been dragged across the internet in ways that I don't usually respond to. I have to respond now because it's gettin [sic] to a place where there are too many lines being crossed."
As social media remains a powerful yet volatile platform, both Hill and Keoghan remind us of the importance of verifying facts before jumping to conclusions, highlighting the human toll that comes with baseless rumors.
