AceShowbiz - SEVENTEEN and Teddy Swims have been announced as the first performers for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), hosted by Michelle Buteau. The show will air on December 12 on FOX and Paramount+, with additional performances available online.
Both artists have made significant impacts on the Billboard charts this year. Teddy Swims' "Lose Control" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in March, and his album "I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1)" reached No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in May. SEVENTEEN has had six top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on Billboard's Artist 100 chart in May 2023.
Both artists are finalists for multiple BBMAs this year. SEVENTEEN is nominated for Top K-Pop Touring Artist, while Swims has eight nominations, including Top New Artist and Top Hot 100 Song.
Previously announced finalists include Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen and Sabrina Carpenter. The show marks the BBMAs' return to FOX after airing on the network from 1990 to 2006. Paramount+ and Fire TV Channels will also provide streaming and one-click access to fans.
The BBMAs will celebrate the year's top artists, albums, and songs across various genres, with performances and awards presented from global locations. Shaboozey will deliver a special performance from W Hollywood. Additional performers will be announced soon.
