A tale of perseverance, family traditions, and unexpected miracles - CNN's anchor Jessica Schneider and her husband share the joyous arrival of their second son, Carter.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Schneider, esteemed CNN justice correspondent, and her husband Adam Harrison are celebrating a new addition to their family. Their son, Carter Pauly Dunn Harrison, was born on Monday, November 25, weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz., and measuring 21.5 inches long. Carter joins his older brother Lincoln, who was born in 2020.

"We are still in awe that we got to welcome our second son into the world this Thanksgiving week," the couple shared with PEOPLE. Their joy is underscored by the challenges they faced over the past three years. Schneider and Harrison experienced infertility, enduring five failed frozen embryo transfers, and being told by doctors that natural conception was unlikely.

However, the couple's story took a miraculous turn earlier this year when they discovered they were expecting. "The prayers and love from our friends and family were strong over the past nine months, and we are overjoyed to welcome Carter into our family," they expressed.

In keeping with a unique family tradition, Schneider and Harrison named their sons after American presidents, with Carter joining his brother Lincoln in this homage. Furthermore, both boys' middle names honor their grandparents. Lincoln's middle names, Michael and Robert, are derived from his grandfathers, while Carter's middle names, Pauly and Dunn, connect to Schneider's mom's maiden name and middle name, as well as Harrison's mom's maiden name and middle name, respectively.

The couple, who married at District Winery in Washington, D.C. in 2019, met via the Bumble dating app in March 2017 after Schneider relocated from New York City. Harrison, who was committed early in the relationship, proposed on July 4, 2018 with a redesigned version of his grandmother's diamond ring at Schneider's family cottage in the Finger Lakes.

Despite their personal joy, Schneider and Harrison remain acutely aware of the struggles many face in starting a family. "We recognize all of the people out there who struggle to start a family, and we hope our own struggle might give people out there hope," they conveyed.

As the couple embarks on this new chapter with their expanding family, their story remains a testament to hope, love, and the miracles that life can unexpectedly bring.
