In anticipation of the 2025 release, 'Tron: Ares' unleashes a new image showing the new lead actor, Jared Leto, standing in an eye-catching black and red light suit next to an upgraded lightcycle.

AceShowbiz - Disney is gearing up for the release of "Tron: Ares", the highly anticipated continuation of the iconic sci-fi action franchise. Directed by Joachim Rønning, known for his work on "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" and "Maleficent 2", this third installment promises to explore new dimensions both in narrative and visual design.

The film is set to hit theaters on October 10, 2025, a date that fortunately avoids direct competition but shares the month with other high-profile releases like Michael Jackson's biopic.

A newly released promotional image has given fans their first glimpse of Jared Leto's character, Ares, standing alongside a new style of lightcycle. Unlike the sleek motorcycles from previous films, this version resembles a more robust, possibly four-wheeled, all-terrain vehicle.

The background, which resembles a factory setting, aligns with Rønning's promise of a "grittier" and "more industrial" aesthetic, accentuated by a soundtrack composed by Nine Inch Nails.

"With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this installment will be a little grittier, a little bit more industrial," Rønning shared. "It's been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world we are creating."

The movie continues the legacy established by "Tron: Legacy" (2010) and its 1982 predecessor. "Tron: Ares" stars Jared Leto as a sophisticated program, Ares, who embarks on a perilous mission that sees him crossing from the digital world into the human realm.

Fans can look forward to a poignant encounter between humanity and AI, as the film doubles down on emotional storytelling and profound themes. "What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core. This film will probably be more emotional than people are expecting. It's about the cost of being human," Rønning teased.

In a notable return, Jeff Bridges will reprise his role as Kevin Flynn, providing a bridge between the older and newer generations of the franchise. The cast also features an exciting lineup, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, and more.

The forthcoming film is a collaborative effort with a screenplay penned by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, and production credits going to Emma Ludbrook, Jeffrey Springer, and Leto himself, with Russell Allen serving as an executive producer. As production wrapped last May, fans are eagerly awaiting more glimpses and trailers to further delve into this promising adventure.

With its rich blend of groundbreaking visuals, an intense soundtrack, and deep emotional undertones, "Tron: Ares" is set to be a standout entry in the beloved franchise. Mark your calendars for an unforgettable ride.
