She explains, "They have a great track record on the show... They're very, very committed, and they work extremely hard."

She says, "You cannot teach performance... I've had to now like, teach somebody how to perform, which has been interesting."

She reveals that it took some time to discover Amendola's dancing strengths but that the turning point came with their contemporary performance, which showcased his strength and storytelling abilities.

Carson also acknowledges the pressure of the semifinals, where she and Amendola will perform a Viennese waltz and a salsa. She explains, "It's a little bit more pressure for me as the choreographer, just to keep providing wow factors for everybody."
