AceShowbiz - Jelly Roll has vowed to continue his weight loss journey. The "Son of a Sinner" singer revealed that he has no plans to slow down after losing more than a hundred pounds, thanks to his healthy lifestyle.
Recently, the Grammy nominee had a sit-down to discuss his weight loss journey. In an interview with PEOPLE that was published on Wednesday, November 20, he proudly shared that he has lost 110 pounds so far.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, opened up about the challenges that he has been facing since he attempted to lose weight. He explained, "The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I've looked at food for the last 39 years."
"I've never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it's like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way," he elaborated. "Nobody in my house ever had [a healthy relationship with food], so that was the hard part, really fighting that demon at first and getting into that discipline and that commitment."
Jelly also told the media outlet that he has lost 60 to 70 lbs. during his "Beautifully Broken" tour, which kicked off in August and is set to conclude later this month. He said, "It's cool because there was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour was the opposite. It revolved around alcohol and drugs. And now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day."
Aside from food addiction, Jelly faced cruel body-shaming during the weight loss journey. In April, he decided to step away from social media platforms due to hurtful comments on his body. At that time, his wife Bunnie XO revealed, "My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f**king weight."
"And that makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby," she continued. "My husband doesn't show it to you guys, but I'm going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him."
