Apple TV+ has renewed its drama series 'The Last Thing He Told Me', which features Garner, for a second season, based on the upcoming sequel novel by author Laura Dave.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Garner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Angourie Rice and David Morse will all reprise their roles in the new season. Aaron Zelman has joined as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Oscar winner Josh Singer.

In Season 1, Garner portrays Hannah Hall, an artist whose life is turned upside down after her husband mysteriously disappears. Rice plays her step-daughter, Bailey, with whom Hannah forms a closer bond as they search for answers.

While initially conceived as a limited series, the success of Season 1 led to Apple TV+'s decision to renew it. Dave's sequel novel is expected to be released in 2025, providing the storyline for Season 2.

No release date has been announced for Season 2 yet, but it is expected to debut sometime after the sequel novel's publication.

During an interview with the "Today" show, Dave revealed that filming for Season 2 will begin "in a few weeks." "We're starting to shoot in a few weeks, which is just wild. I can't believe we're here again," she said. "I sat down with everyone, I walked them through, I have a whole draft."

Garner is excited to continue telling Hannah's story, stating, "I'm thrilled to get to tell more of Hannah's story - I couldn't have said yes more quickly to Season 2! These characters and their story mean so much to me, as I know they do to the many who have championed our show; we're excited to give audiences even more with this next chapter."
