AceShowbiz - Dave Portnoy has confirmed his exit from the "BFFs" podcast amid a brewing feud between himself and country singer Zach Bryan, the ex-boyfriend of co-host Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia.
On Thursday's episode of "The Unnamed Show" podcast, Portnoy explained his decision: "The subjects don't interest me at all. They show me the topics when I go in there. I haven't done any research, and I'm just ripping apart 18-year-olds, who I don't even know."
Portnoy, 47, co-founded "BFFs" with Josh Richards in 2020. LaPaglia joined the podcast the following year. "It certainly accomplished what I wanted to accomplish when we started it," said Portnoy. "Josh and Bri will continue it. It's super successful. But, yeah, it's time for me to try the next thing. I had run my course with it."
LaPaglia, who addressed Portnoy's departure during Thursday's episode of "BFFs," acknowledged that the show would be different without the Barstool Sports founder's influence. An exact date for Portnoy's final episode has yet to be announced, but he plans to remain on the show until the end of the year.
Portnoy's exit comes after a bombshell episode in which LaPaglia opened up about her relationship with Bryan. She accused him of abuse and alleged he offered her $12 million to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Portnoy, who has been vocal in his support for LaPaglia, has since released diss tracks targeting Bryan.
In a separate article, LaPaglia further detailed her allegations against Bryan, claiming that he emotionally abused her and isolated her from her friends and family. She also shared that she declined an offer of $12 million from Bryan's team to stay silent about their relationship.
