AceShowbiz - Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, has shared the spotlight with an array of musical talents, but perhaps none as iconic as Stevie Nicks. The two teamed up to deliver "Maybe This Christmas" by Ron Sexsmith, featured on the upcoming album "A Philly Special Christmas Party". The song, which dropped on Thursday, November 8, has already generated considerable buzz on social media. Jason described his duet with Nicks as "unreal" and a dream come true.
Jason first teased this unexpected collaboration last month, sparking excitement among fans when he posted a photo of himself with Nicks on the Instagram account for his "New Heights" podcast. "The crossover we didn't know we needed," he captioned it. When reflecting on the project, Jason praised Stevie as "one of the nicest people" he's ever met, full of creativity and musical passion.
Stevie Nicks, hailed for her work with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, harmonized beautifully with Jason, adding depth to their cover of the Christmas classic. Behind-the-scenes footage showcases her guiding Jason to "sing exactly what you're singing" while she layered her harmony above. Jason modestly dubbed the experience incredible, stating he never thought he'd collaborate with such an iconic voice.
This Christmas album marks Jason's third venture into the festive music scene with The Philly Specials, a group he formed with fellow former Philadelphia Eagles players Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. Their previous albums, "A Philly Special Christmas" and "A Philly Special Christmas Special", released in 2022 and 2023, respectively, have been well received. The proceeds from these albums go to support the Children's Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia.
Adding to the hype, this year's project includes a heartwarming addition, a cameo by Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who also made waves with their holiday single "It's Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights)", a collaboration with Boyz II Men. The festive track is dedicated to the Kelce brothers' Ohio hometown.
"A Philly Special Christmas Party" is set to release on November 22, and enthusiasts can hardly wait. The album promises a mix of smooth vocals and Christmas cheer, highlighting the unexpected yet delightful pairing of NFL stars and musical legends. Stay tuned, because this holiday season is set to be more magical with every note they sing.
