AceShowbiz - Hugh Grant, the adored romantic comedy star, has given fans a glimpse into his private life, sharing the special and unconventional names of his two youngest daughters during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live".
It all began with a surprising revelation about Grant's peculiar middle name, Mungo. "Yes, my parents were very unkind, so as a result, I gave my own children even worse names!" Grant joked.
With a hint of pride and humor, he unveiled the unique names of his young girls: Lulu Danger and Blue. Each name carries a charming story of its own.
For Lulu, Grant and his wife, Anna Eberstein, were in a bit of a rush on the day she was born. "We thought it might be nice if, when she's older, she could go into a bar and say, 'My middle name is Danger,'" Grant explained. And with that touch of whimsy, Lulu Danger Grant officially joined the family.
As the interview unfolded, Kimmel and the audience eagerly awaited more name-related anecdotes. And Grant, always happy to entertain, shared the serendipitous tale behind his youngest daughter's name, Blue.
"Once again, I panicked about names with my wife, so we asked her elder brother what we should call her," Grant recalled with a smile. Their son John's suggestion? "Kevin," inspired by his favorite Minion.
While Hugh and Anna didn't quite warm to Kevin, John's follow-up suggestion, "Blue," inspired by his favorite color, struck a chord. "We did think about calling her Kevin, but then we said, 'You better think of something else,' " Hugh chuckled, remembering the moment fondly. And with that, Blue joined the family in true Grant fashion: with a name as charming as the story behind it.
