AceShowbiz - Nicole Kidman's heart is heavy as she navigates the aftermath of her mother's passing. At the Season 2 premiere of her series "Lioness", Kidman expressed her emotional state, saying, "It's been hard... It's a hard road. I'm hanging in there."
The Oscar-winning actress attended the event just over a month after her mother's death at age 84. She candidly shared with The Hollywood Reporter, "I wish my mama was here. That'd be the one thing I'd say. Everything is great with work, but I wish my mama was here."
Kidman's mother played a significant role in her life, as she once said, "My mother was a major guide through my life, and probably my compass." Her previous losses include her father, Anthony, who passed away in 2014.
Despite her grief, Kidman has continued to work on a series of projects, including "Expats", "A Family Affair", "Babygirl" and "The Perfect Couple". The two-episode premiere of "Lioness" season 2 will stream on Paramount+ on October 27th.
Kidman is also set to appear in A24's erotic thriller "Babygirl", which hits theaters on December 25th. She will also star in a sequel to "Practical Magic" with Sandra Bullock and "Scarpetta", a TV adaptation of Patricia Cromwell's books alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose.
Kidman and her sister Antonia paid tribute to their mother on Instagram, thanking fans for their support during this difficult time. They wrote, "Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express."
