AceShowbiz - Halle Berry, 58, has secured a legal victory in her ongoing custody battle with Olivier Martinez, 58, over co-parenting their son, Maceo. A judge has ruled in Berry's favor, ordering Martinez to participate in co-parenting therapy as requested by Berry.
Berry had accused Martinez of attempting to take time off from therapy and requested that he be compelled to participate. The judge complied with her request, noting that Martinez had already complied before the case went to court.
The judge has also ordered both Berry and Martinez to refrain from discussing child custody issues with Maceo or making negative comments about each other or their partners in front of him.
Berry has claimed to have spent $200,000 in legal fees, including voluntarily contributing towards Martinez's expenses. Martinez has allegedly objected to paying for home visits with the therapist, causing delays in court-mandated therapy.
Berry has accused Martinez of oppositional and unmovable behavior regarding major decisions about Maceo. She has expressed her desire to work amicably with Martinez for their son's sake and has accused him of "staying angry" without reason.
Martinez has responded by accusing Berry of not putting Maceo's best interests first. Representatives for Berry and Martinez have been contacted for comment.
Berry has previously filed for sole custody of Maceo, claiming that he is struggling in school and has been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Martinez has contested this, alleging that Berry is using the situation to take advantage of him and delay a custody hearing.
Berry and Martinez married in 2013 and divorced in 2023. Berry also shares a daughter, Nahla, 16, with her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry. Martinez met Berry in 2010 on set of "Dark Tide" while she was still in a relationship with Aubry.
